When migrating the servers used by Gluo to a newer, more modern alternative, all data from July 6th 2025 up until August 8th 2026 was irreversibly lost. We are truly sorry for the troubles caused by this accident.
When upgrading our servers to use a new management dashboard, I should have properly migrated and backed up the data. However, the migration of Gluo was part of a general procedure that wasn't performed with Gluo in mind. Eventually, I decided to hard-reset the server, not realising what was on it... which is how we got here.
So any competent developer would point out that I should have a relatively recent backup, minimising data loss. While Gluo had an automated backup system for a while, with the decrease in activity last year, I decided to stop. This was for monetary reasons, but also under the assumption that Gluo would sooner or later be discontinued.
The irony of things is that recently, the developers and I have picked up where we left off, with great ambition to bring a better Gluo. In the past month a new-found motivation has kept the team busy again. What I am trying to say is that any plans to discontinue Gluo have been thrown out, meaning the cost-saving decision to stop backing up has come to bite me.
I am deeply sorry for the oversight on my part. If I could reverse it I would.
